Adapting to Change: Embracing the Present
I believe that the best way to save Sausalito is not by trying to preserve it unchanged, but by adapting to the realities of the present. Sausalito is a vibrant, creative community full of doers, makers, innovators, and iconoclasts. It is not a museum piece.
The place we love is both beautiful and dynamic. I've been working to help revitalize it through my contributions as a volunteer on the city council over the past several years.
Sausalito's Legacy of Innovation
As someone with a background in business, entrepreneurship, and startups, I understand the importance of dynamism and invention. Sausalito has always been a dynamic and inventive community. This spirit is evident in the Center for the Arts, the redesign of our Ferry Plaza, the creation of the Property Business Improvement District, and the ongoing innovation in the Marinship area.
Commitment to Service and Encouraging Community Involvement
My role in volunteering to serve again on the City Council is to support those working to improve Sausalito. If you want to support this effort, I hope you'll consider supporting this campaign or volunteering to help make Sausalito better.
What I have accomplished so far:
Sausalito for the Arts: Championed the Sausalito Center for the Arts to reinvigorate Sausalito’s rich artistic heritage, enhance the vibrancy of downtown, and provide both residents and visitors with engaging cultural experiences.
Farmers Market: Advocated for the return of the Farmers Market to Dunphy Park, revitalizing the community's access to fresh, local produce and supporting local vendors.
Jazz by the Bay: Extended the Jazz by the Bay series into September, offering more opportunities for the community to enjoy live music and vibrant performances.
Support the arts and community through actions, not just words: Regularly donate to non-profits in our community including $10k to sister cities, $8k to SCA, $3k to send Marin City Kids to NYC for Broadway theatre experience, $1,500 to Shakespear on the water and to Sips and Sounds, $5k to Cas GIdley Marina.
What I plan to accomplish if re-elected:
